Job Purpose and Role
We are looking for a part time web designer and developer with deep WordPress experience to own the design, maintenance, and ongoing development of our client’s main corporate website and related web properties. You will work directly with the Founder and CEO to translate business priorities into a polished, fast, professional web presence.
This is a hands-on role. You will design pages, build them, ship them, and keep them running.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain pages using WordPress
- Implement and customize themes, templates, and plugins, including custom CSS and PHP where needed
- Maintain brand consistency across all pages, including typography, color, and layout standards
- Optimize site speed, mobile responsiveness, and Core Web Vitals
- Manage SEO fundamentals, including metadata, structured data, sitemaps, and clean URL structure
- Handle routine maintenance, including plugin and core updates, backups, security hardening, and uptime monitoring
- Support content publishing, including formatting blog posts, landing pages, and portfolio project pages
- Coordinate with hosting and domain providers as needed
- Provide occasional support for related web properties
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional WordPress design and development experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating clean, modern, professional design for business or financial services brands
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, or similar) and with building custom themes
- Working knowledge of on-page SEO and site performance optimization
- Experience with WordPress security, backups, and maintenance best practices
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Responsive communication and reliable turnaround on requests
Nice to Have:
- Experience designing for real estate, private equity, or financial services firms
- Familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite for design mockups
- Experience with email capture, CRM integrations, or newsletter platforms
- Basic graphic design skills for web banners and social assets
- Experience managing multiple sites or a multisite environment
